Chilled Water Balancing

What Is Chilled Water Balancing?

Chilled water balancing is a systematic procedure used to adjust and regulate water flow rates across the entire chilled water system—from the chiller plant to air handling units (AHUs) and fan coil units (FCUs).
The objective is to ensure that each terminal unit receives the precise flow rate required to achieve its designed cooling performance.

This process involves using specialized tools such as pressure gauges, flow meters, and balancing valves to measure and fine-tune flows according to design specifications.
